News from Neil Gerrard |
|
Gerrard meets Gerrard Neil Gerrard met his namesake at Westminster. Following the success of Neil's Private Members Bill which will stop minicab drivers refusing to take guide dogs with their owners, the Guide Dogs Association for the Blind, as a gesture of thanks, have named a trainee guide dog puppy 'Gerrard'. His trainer brought him to Westminster to meet Neil. "It was a really nice gesture by the Association which I very much appreciated" said Neil. "He is a beautiful young Golden Labrador puppy who I am sure will become a real friend to someone who he will spend years helping to live a much more active life. I shall try to keep in touch so that I see how he develops over the next year while he completes his training." March 2003 Update July 2004 I have just been told that Gerrard has finished his training and has qualified, so he will shortly be starting work with his new owner..
